Palin Takes The High Road: Says She Will “Not Call” Santorum “The Knuckle-Dragging Neanderthal That Perhaps Others Would Want To Call Him. I’ll Let His Wife Call Him That.”

Reported by Ellen - February 10, 2011 -

On Hannity last night (2/9/11), Sarah Palin was asked to respond to potential presidential rival Rick Santorum’s digs at her. Palin insisted that she was going to concentrate on important issues and finding solutions for America’s problems. So proving just how sincere she was about taking the high road, she said, “I will not call him the knuckle-dragging Neanderthal that perhaps others would want to call him. I’ll let his wife call him that, instead.”

After that childish remark, Palin said with a straight face, “There are so many life-changing, life and death issues out there in front of us… we’d better be concentrating on what’s really important here and not going kind of tit for tat as people are positioning themselves for 2012.”

Hannity, of course, never caught the hypocrisy. But he brought up Santorum again.

This time, Palin responded, “Again, it’s that kind of tit for tat thing that Americans are really turned off by and they want to hear us engaged in debate and discourse and conversation about solutions.”

Good to know that’s how Palin will be engaged.

Santorum appeared on On The Record, immediately following Hannity, and insisted, "I like Sarah Palin. My wife and I both like Sarah Palin. We talk about it all the time... We have a tremendous amount of respect for her... I think we've watched every episode of Sarah Palin's Alaska."
