Thanks To Dick Morris, I Feel More Confident Obama Will Be Re-Elected

Reported by Ellen - January 27, 2011 -

Thanks, Dick Morris! I know you didn’t mean it this way but when I heard you tell Bill O’Reilly last night (1/26/11) that after the State of the Union address you “became certain” President Obama will be defeated in 2012, I became a lot more confident that Obama will be re-elected. You see, I remember when you said, Hillary Clinton's 22-point lead in her 2005 Senate race indicated she was in trouble, and when you said, "The people who said (Hurricane Katrina) is going to hurt Bush's presidency are just wrong." I also remember that you wrote a little book in 2005 called, Condi vs. Hillary: The Next Great Presidential Race. I also remember a stack of other off-the-mark predictions.

Bill O’Reilly was at his best during this interview (I have a feeling O’Reilly thinks Morris is pretty much the same crackpot I do) in which he pointed out that while the Republicans may have been right on the issues, they got the optics wrong. O’Reilly said, “You have to admit that President Obama… came across very well and I’m telling you, his approval ratings are going to go up.”

Morris said, “When Obama finished speaking, Bill, I heaved a sigh of relief because I became certain that he’s going to be defeated in 2012… I believe he doomed himself… Could you hear laughing in the street when he said he broke the back of the recession?”

Well, no, but maybe that’s because a slew of experts declared that the recession ended in June, 2009.

I think it’s more likely people were laughing in the street when Morris said Obama had just caused his 2012 defeat.
