Sean Hannity And Rich Lowry Think John Boehner Should Stop Crying

Reported by Ellen - January 4, 2011 -

Memo to John Boehner: You know you’ve gone over the edge if you’re a Republican and you’re being criticized for your behavior on the Hannity show. While Sean Hannity offered a lot of sympathy for Boehner's crying jags, he said he wished Boehner "wouldn't do it." Guest Rich Lowry was more blunt, saying, “Men who cry in public all the time are going to be made fun of and probably should be.” Hmm, makes you wonder what Lowry says about Glenn Beck.

During tonight's Great American Panel segment on Hannity, the following discussion occurred:

Hannity: (Boehner's) now the target of every comedian, including David Letterman… I’m gonna be honest. I think because of what is going to become a running attack on him, I wish he wouldn’t do it. I understand it, based on his background. Here’s a guy, you know, scrubbing bar floors at 10 years old and, you know, he can’t believe America gave him this gift and he’s emotional about it. But I wish he wouldn’t.

Lowry: He feels his upbringing and his ability to rise despite it very deeply. He obviously can’t say the words ‘American dream’ without crying like a baby. But, Sean, let’s be honest here. Men who cry in public all the time are going to be made fun of and probably should be.
