"Fox Nation" Uses Photo Of South Korean "Christmas Tree" In Story About Washington State Christmas Decoration Dispute
Reported by Priscilla - December 22, 2010 -
The headline of the Fox Nation story is "City Fines Church For Christmas Star." The Fox Nation headline is linked to a Washington state KOMO.com report about how a local church put up a star atop a flagpole, erected by a cell phone company, on the church's property and now the county has levied a fine on the church because they didn't apply for a permit. The linked article has a photo of the pole with the star. The Fox Nation article has a photo of a "Christmas tree" which is actually a very high pole with electric lights strung up in the shape of a Christmas tree - with a cross on top. Thing is that this "tree" is in South Korea. Because of its proximity to the North Korean border, the North Koreans can see it and have issued complaints. Oh, well, it looks like a nice Christian Christmas thingie which fits the Fox Nation story so it's close enough. It's Christmas and maybe the Fox Nation staff have had too much eggnog to really care about accuracy. As long as they're "fair & balanced," it's all good.
