Beck Soaks His Fans: $500 A Ticket To Meet And Greet Him

Reported by Ellen - December 13, 2010 -

Glenn Beck has repeatedly asked his audience to sacrifice their fortunes, their cars, and even their Social Security in order to engage in his fight to "save our republic" but one thing seems certain: Beck has no intention to sacrifice his own bottom line. As Media Matters' Eric Boehlert reported, "populist" Glenn Beck is charging $500 a ticket (plus a $32 service fee) for a "meet and greet" package that also includes breakfast, a photo with Beck and a ticket to a radio show broadcast in Wilmington, Ohio on Wednesday. UPDATED.

Boehlert also notes that while audiences are typically not charged to attend radio and television show broadcasts, "regular" tickets to Beck's radio show are going for $125.00.

You can contact Beck at me@glennbeck.com or glennbeck@foxnews.com.

UPDATE: Presumably, Beck hopes that some of his well-heeled fans will arrive in Wilmington and help spread some money around the economically depressed town. And Beck says that all the "net proceeds" will go to Wilmington non-profits. But Beck easily has the means of putting on a show without charging exorbitant fees and could have raised money for the town in ways that you don't need to be well off to enjoy. More in my next post here.
