Karl Rove Declines To Say Sarah Palin Would Make A Good President

Reported by Ellen - October 24, 2010 -

I smell another Republican Civil War on the horizon, and it's between two Fox News contributors, Karl Rove and Sarah Palin. Today, on CBS' Face The Nation, host Bob Schieffer asked guest Rove if he thinks Palin will run for president in 2012 and, if so, whether she'd be a good president. Rove responded, "I don't know whether she's going to run or not and if she runs, she would be a formidable candidate. But look, there are going to be several geological ages that are gonna come and go before the 2012 Republican presidential nomination fight gels... Every one of these prospective (Republican) candidates, if they decide to enter the race, has strengths that they need to work on magnifying and weaknesses that they need to endeavor to overcome or challenges that they need to overcome. And we don't know how that's gonna play out. It's going to be a very interesting contest to watch."

This is not the first time Rove has sounded less than impressed with Palin. You may recall the tussle that ensued when Rove opined that the Palin-endorsed Christine O'Donnell would be unelectable to the U.S. Senate in Delaware and his challenge to Palin that she prove him wrong. We all know how that seems to be working out.

As we get closer to the 2012 nomination process (i.e. as soon as the midterms are over) grab the popcorn. This could be one for the ages.

The discussion about Palin begins at about 10:30 in the video below.
