Bill O’Reilly & Laura Ingraham Say "FU" To “PC”

Reported by Priscilla - October 23, 2010 -

Bill O’Reilly and Laura Ingraham are both Catholics who make their living insulting and frequently lying about people with whom they don’t agree. Obviously, not all Catholics are purveyors of hatred and personal destruction. But, using O’Reilly’s logic about moderate Muslims vis-à-vis radical Islamists, I guess I can say that Catholics who don’t believe in hate speech should denounce these two who routinely violate the commandment about “bearing false witness” which is still, I think, in the Catholic cannon; although I’ve been out of the church for a long time so maybe folks like O’Reilly and Ingraham get special indulgences under new papal standards for rich conservatives. Who knows! But what I do know is that Bill O’Reilly and Laura Ingraham are mad as hell and they’re not going to take it anymore. They have decided to cast aside “political correctness” and tell anybody who has a problem with their bigotry to kiss their conservative asses!!!

Thursday night, Bill and Laura expressed the requisite right wing outrage at guess what? If you guessed NPR’s firing of Juan Williams you win a lifetime supply of Bill O’Reilly’s favorite loofahs. Bill and Laura wanted to know “if freedom of speech exists in liberal princincts.” Bill and Laura kvetched about the terrible thing that happened to wonderful Juan, yadda, yadda, yadda. Laura, it should be noted, was wearing, in addition to that Great Big Cross, other truly tacky jewelry (Laura’s “WASP” relatives must be appalled) which might or might not be religious in nature. (She’s a good Catholic, in case you haven’t noticed!) She whined about how NPR’s Terry Gross, in a discussion with liberal Sean Wilentz, recently insulted blessed teabaggers and that saintly Glenn Beck and ain’t that unfair because “she can give her opnion, I would say, on the majority of Americans who are tired of politics as usual…” (Uh, last I check, less than half of Americans were teabaggers) and Juan Williams, blah, blah, blah. O’Reilly said this is a good thing because Americans are now realizing that “some portions of the media are corrupt.” He made the perfunctory George Soros reference in “we linked this into George Soros, we know what they’re doing over there, our tax dollars are being abused.” He added “PC” is on the run” because everywhere Bill goes, he gets free hamburgers and pizza from his adoring fans who, one assumes, hate Muslims, LGBT's, immigrants, minorities, libruls, certain ethnic groups, etc and now feel validated, in their bigotry, because of Bill O’Reilly who is “looking out” for them. Ingraham gave props to O’Reilly: “What you said last night to Juan, by the way, when he said, you know, ‘look, Bill there are good Muslims and we have to careful what we say,’ you came on him at that point and said, “look, I’m sick of this political correctness I’m going to say what I believe.” She added that she thinks that “people across the country and on my radio show…people were cheering.” She said that it’s important to “recognize that totalitarian tactics on the left” which she saw when she edited the *Dartmouth Review at which time “they were trying to shut down speech” and now those same Ivy Leaguers are “in position of power” and “are trying to shut down debate today.” According to Ingraham, “people are on to their game” thanks to Fox News and bloggers. She gave *“three cheers for what Karl Rove said" (he supports defunding of NPR) and said "I think we have a national momentum to defund NPR." Bill agreed.
Comment: You heard it here folks. Bill O’Reilly and Laura Ingraham say it’s fine and dandy to go around talking about those MFing (fill in Islamophobic, homophobic, racist, derogatory, etc. adjective) ( fill in Muslims, LGBT's, immigrants, minorities, liberals, ethnic groups etc). It's not surprising given that Bill O'Reilly misses the good old days when you could make fun of Arabs and other people. I guess that means that if a liberal media talker wanted to describe the Catholic Church as a bunch of rich, misogynistic, pedophile enablers who dress up in tacky drag, Bill O’Reilly would be fine because who cares about the feelings of others? Obviously, I’m being snarky – but Bill O’Reilly isn’t!

*Re Ingraham’s tenure at the Dartmouth Review: “Already tarnished by its reputation for bigoted, homophobic, and sexist reportage, Ingraham took the Review to new levels when she secretly taped meetings of the campus Gay Students Association, sent copies of the tapes to participants’ parents, and, as if that wasn’t enough, published the transcript and went on to publicly denounce the GSA as "cheerleaders for latent campus sodomites." These things were considered so outrageous that William Buckley and Jack Kemp "severed their masthead and financial ties."

And BTW, for all of you who love Laura’s cross bling. The “four way cross” - Jesus, Mary, St. Joseph, and St. Christopher (a quadruple whammy) that she wears is available on her website for only $49.95. The proceeds go to the “Little Sisters of the Poor” who take care of those who, if Bill and Laura had their way, would no longer have any public service safety net! It's ironic, don't ya think!

*Correction: My original comment indicated that Karl Rove said that "we have a national momentum to NPR." While Rove supports defunding, and that is what Ingraham is giving him props for, he did not cite a "national momentum." That was Ingraham's phrase.
