Dennis Miller Suggests Ground Zero Imam Will “Blow Things Up” If He Can’t Build The Mosque At Ground Zero

Reported by Ellen - September 19, 2010 -

The eternally snide, eternally unfunny Dennis Miller visited The O’Reilly Factor for his usual Wednesday gig a few nights ago, on September 15, 2010. The first topic of conversation was the so-called Ground Zero mosque. Miller, not surprisingly, fell right in line with the rest of the Fox News personalities against the mosque: Rather than oppose it in a civil, dignified way, he wasted no time smearing and fear mongering about Muslims. In this case, Miller announced, “I noticed a lot of their most ardent devotees would blow things up when they didn’t get their way,” and went on to suggest that that’s exactly what would happen if the Islamic cultural center is not built.

I don’t know which is more annoying, Miller’s idea of humor or his hipster lingo. In his inimitable way, Miller discussed his evolving views of Islam. First, he claimed, he had been “apathetic” about Islam. “Then I became Islamo-curious because I noticed a lot of their most ardent devotees would blow things up when they didn’t get their way… And now I would say, let me be Islamo-candid… When Imam Celine Dion’s husband says that he’s building this at Ground Zero as an outreach thing, I want to say, if you want to be about outreach, build a synagogue there, Pal, because when you don’t get your way, and start vaguely threatening that it could hit the fan if you don’t get their way, that’s not moderate to me. That’s cutting it both ways. I hear you, brother. I get you loud and clear.”

What’s the matter, Denny Baby, are you afraid you can’t argue well enough against the project without fear mongering against Muslims? Or are you just jumping at any opportunity to do so?

Meanwhile, a truly funny guy, Jon Stewart, completely eviscerated Fox News' "concern" that the imam might be threatening the U.S. if he can't build his project at his desired site.
