Newt Gingrich Nostalgic For Bush Era

During an interview on Fox News Sunday today, Newt Gingrich pretty much proved President Obama's argument that Republicans want to go back to the era of Bush.
At about the 4:40 mark in the interview below, host Chris Wallace asked Gingrich if Minority Leader John Boehner isn’t “making the Democratic argument that your party’s idea is 'Let’s go back to Bush?'"
Gingrich answered, "Well, first of all, if you want to go back to the world before Pelosi and Reid of December of 2006, there’s a lot higher employment, a lot higher income, the middle class was much better off…"
Wallace interrupted, "You can’t blame the whole financial crisis on Reid and Pelosi."
Gingrich said, "No, but you can blame the level of failure for the last two years, and the level of spending for the last four years on the liberal Democrats both in the Congress and in the White House."
Wallace didn't press the matter further but Gingrich had just confirmed Wallace's point.
