John Bolton Urges Israel To Bomb Iran In Eight Three Days

Reported by Ellen - August 17, 2010 -

Fox News contributor and chickenhawk, John Bolton is still coo coo for bombing Iran. Apparently having given up on the previously hoped-for strike by the United States, Bolton is now urging Israel to attack. Now. He originally gave the Israelis eight days to do it. Now Bolton has reduced his timetable to three days.

As Raw Story reported, former U.N. ambassador Bolton warned on Monday that Israel's window for attacking Iran has become very narrow now that a shipment of nuclear fuel is due at its first nuclear power reactor. Once that fuel arrives, Bolton argued, a strike would spread too much radiation and contamination. "Once that uranium, once those fuel rods are very close to the reactor, certainly once they're in the reactor, attacking it means a release of radiation, no question about it," Bolton told Fox Business Network.

However, Bolton later said the "optimal" timeframe is within three days. Unfotunately for his bloodlust, he also indicated skepticism that an attack is imminent. "I don't think so, I'm afraid that they've lost this opportunity," he said.

H/T Hula.

UPDATE: Bolton appeared on Hannity tonight and repeated his rhetoric. This time, however, he offered an explicit desire for the bombing to happen and for the US to help, "Frankly, I think the United States ought to help Israel do this. We're going to get blamed for it anyway if it happens," Bolton told a sympathetic Hannity.
