When Is Megyn Kelly Or Fox News Going To Discuss The Conservative Agenda Behind The DOJ/New Black Panther Party Case?

Reported by Ellen - July 17, 2010 -

Not long after Megyn Kelly and Fox News began trumpeting the "explosive allegations" that the Obama Department of Justice under Eric Holder had dropped a voter intimidation case against the New Black Panther Party and a few of its members because of a racial preference toward black defendants, I wrote that this was an effort to set up Holder and Obama as the new ACORN. It looks as though I've been proven correct. As Politico reported yesterday, Angela Thernstrom, a conservative, Republican vice chair of the conservative, Republican-packed U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, which has been investigating the DOJ's handling of the New Black Panther Party case, has not only blasted the right-wing frenzy over the case, she said she had first-hand knowledge that it's an effort to "bring Eric Holder down and really damage the president." So when will "fair and balanced" Fox News and "objective" Kelly give Thernstrom the kind of attention she has given to J. Christian Adams, the GOP-activist dubbed "DOJ whistleblower?"

Politico reported,

“This doesn’t have to do with the Black Panthers; this has to do with their fantasies about how they could use this issue to topple the [Obama] administration,” said Thernstrom, who said members of the commission voiced their political aims “in the initial discussions” of the Panther case last year. (my emphasis)

“My fellow conservatives on the commission had this wild notion they could bring Eric Holder down and really damage the president,” Thernstrom said in an interview with POLITICO.

Neither Thernstrom nor Politico delves into the context of the 2010 election cycle but I'm sure it's no accident that the sudden intensity of interest in the case should be occurring just around the time that Fox News embarks on its usual "sudden" interest in voter fraud. Even if Holder is not "brought down," perhaps he'll be intimidated into more aggressively prosecuting blacks accused of voting improprieties or perhaps he'll be cowed into taking seriously some trumped up accusations of a stolen election.

Still Thernstrom's allegation is at least as "explosive" as Adams'. In fact, it should be even more important to Kelly and her Fox News colleagues because it suggests that Fox News may have been punk'd into spending more than 8 hours of airtime (3.5 hours on Kelly's America Live show) on furthering a cause. Unless, of course, Kelly and Fox News was part of the orchestrated effort.

Shouldn't Kelly and Fox let us know which one it was?
