Fox News Website Article Links To Biased Anti-Choice “News”

Not only does Fox TV “news” seem to have less than six degrees of separation from the anti-choice movement; but so does the Fox News website. Yesterday, the “women’s health” section of Fox News.com had an article titled “Planned Parenthood Patient Take To Hospital After Possible Botched Abortion.” The short Fox article was a summation of a longer article at the anti-choice website “Life News.” The Fox News piece began with the “report,” from Life News, that a patient had been taken from a Planned Parenthood “abortion center,” to a local emergency room in “what appears to be a botched abortion.” The Fox News article quoted a Planned Parenthood director who said that because of patient confidentiality, all she could say was that they responded to an emergency. The “Life News” Reporter deduced that because this happened during a day on which abortion were performed, it could have been a “botched abortion” (as opposed to a myriad of other reasons why somebody might need an ambulance). But the meme in the anti-choice community is that Planned Parenthood “botches” abortions - a falsehood meant to dissuade women from terminating a pregnancy.
