Glenn Beck's 9-12 Project Members Successfully Ban LGBT Library Book

Would Glenn Beck be proud? A group of 18 New Jersey residents who said they were members of the Beck-founded 9-12 Project successfully challenged a book depicting teenage homosexuality in a local high school library.
As The San Diego Gay and Lesbian News reported, in March, a group of 18 residents, who identified themselves as members of the 9-12 Project, called for a banning of three books in the Burlington County high school library
The books that the group wanted banned are “Revolutionary Voices: A Multicultural Queer Youth Anthology,” “Love and Sex: 10 Stories Of Truth” and “The Full Spectrum: A New Generation Of Writing About Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning, And Other Identities.”One of the portion of “Revolutionary Road” that caused a large part of the upset was a depiction of one man bent at the waist with another man standing close behind him. The drawing was interpreted as a depiction of a sexual act. However, the author of the book, Amy Sonnie of Oakland, told the Inquirer in an e-mail that the drawing was a stock photo of one man hiking a football to the other.
The school board voted unanimously to ban “Revolutionary Voices,” but decided to allow the other two books to be available in the library.
