Bill O’Reilly Helped To Bring Down Cardinal Law? Say What?

Reported by Priscilla - April 12, 2010 -

So Bill, in your recent column about why you are still a Catholic, despite the church’s sexual abuse scandal, you said “You may remember that I was a driving force in bringing down the villainous Cardinal Bernard Law in Boston, a man who allowed child-molesting priests to run wild.” No, Bill, I don’t remember that. Law was “brought down” by numerous law suits and advocacy by “Voice of the Faithful,” a group that provided a voice for victims. And Law wasn’t exactly “brought down.” He has a nice, cushy position in Rome. But do tell us, Bill, how it was that you were a “driving force.” Please, provide us with some transcripts of your show and, if relevant, your columns for that period. Your audience obviously thinks that you’re infallible but you’re not, in my book, urbi and orbi. So, once again, I’m challenging you to put your mouth where your money is. Otherwise, you’re just another pompous bloviator, full of his own overinflated sense of self importance – full of the sound and fury signifying nothing. While it’s easy to make claims, like the one about how you saved Christmas, it can be a little trickier to back them up. Got facts, Bill? If so, I am anxious to hear them. Cuz otherwise, your claim about “bringing down” Cardinal Law is just more of the same old, same old, yadda, yadda, yadda!

Addendum: Fox sycophant and huge Bill O'Reilly fan, Mark Koldys (aka "Johnny Dollar") informs us that Bill was very critical of the Cardinal Law situation and provides a number of links to back up Bill's claim. And that's great. As I consider Law to be no better than a common pimp, I commend Bill. But that doesn't mean that Bill isn't a narcissist with delusions of grandeur. His track record on accomplishments can be a little overblown (saving Christmas in Vermont?) so can you blame me for being skeptical? Put it another way (and I can say this) - Bill is the product of "lace curtains," (from day one despite what he says); but his obnoxious bloviating is just sooo "shanty."
