Glenn Beck has come up with a new justification for making sure that none of his $23 million-a-year fortune goes to poor people: Public education is for socialists. He doesn't just believe that, God says so. And in one of the world's great disconnects, Beck argued in the same paragraph that the reason public education is not a right is because if it were, it could enslave any of the poor shlubbs who might use it. With video.
On his show yesterday, Beck said, "The United States Constitution doesn't mention that (education as a right). This one does... This is the Soviet Constitution... Let me help save the education... Rights do not come from government... They never have... Your rights come from God. If government grants you rights, then you're a slave to the government because if they grant them, they can also take them away... Adding in education is just adding another coat of ugly paint."
Yeah, I'm sure that all those people who would go without a public education if Beck had his way would thank God, I mean Beck, for liberating them.
