Fox News Adopts A New Caution Now That ACORN Filmmaker Has Been Arrested

Reported by Ellen - January 27, 2010 -

Fox Nation has developed a new spirit of caution with ACORN sting filmmaker James O'Keefe - now that he has been arrested by the FBI for interfering with the telephones of Senator Mary Landrieu. One of the top headlines at the "fair and balanced" website states, "'There's Much More To This Story.'" The first sentence reads, "Wait until the facts are in." It turns out the post is an excerpt from O'Keefe's mentor and employer, Andrew Breitbart. That's a laudable position but it happens to be quite a different tune than Breitbart sang when ACORN was in the public glare. And it's quite a different tone for Fox News, too - starting with the fact that the "we report, you decide" network failed to mention Breitbart's relationship to O'Keefe.

Although Fox News gave star treatment to O'Keefe and his accomplice, Hannah Giles, the network repeatedly downplayed or avoided all together serious questions that arose about their credibility. They also took the filmmakers' words as truth, even when it was clear they were lying. But now that Breitbart's guy is in big trouble, it's an entirely different story.

So since Breitbart now wants "all the facts," when is he going to release the unedited ACORN videos?
