Happy New Year . . . From a News Hounds Writer Who Appreciates All of You!

Reported by Julie - December 31, 2009 -

In this season of giving and thanks, I think it’s time for a shout-out to the family, friends, loved ones and significant others of the News Hounds writers, as well as our readers . . . all the people, in fact, who make this possible. Thanks especially to you, the readers, who comment and provide us with valuable information on a daily basis, who fill in the gaps because we can't see everything . . . who watch Fox, even if you don't have to.

Do you have something to share? Have at it!

Our dedication (some might call it an obsession!) and passion for what we do on News Hounds impacts everyone close to us – and I, for one, am appreciative of the support I get from my husband, Tim, and my kids, the family who has to pry my cold, dead hands from the keyboard at times to sleep and eat, the family who respects and unfailingly supports the work I do for News Hounds, the family who has begun to know who Bill O’Reilly and Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity are, and to feed me news tidbits they hear. I thank my family for not complaining when I burn dinner on my nights to cook because I’m glued to the t.v. I thank my (independent centrist) husband for taping O’Reilly for me every night that I’m not home to do it. I appreciate that my husband sits with me night after night, listening to me scream at the t.v., and is tolerant and understanding when I disappear into computer-land for hours on end while researching and writing my posts, muttering and tearing my hair. I'm fortunate to have a mate who takes my pursuit seriously, but doesn't always agree with me – who at time challenges my theories while always understanding the necessity of what we do at News Hounds. And I'm lucky to have a husband who has a depth of knowledge of history and politics, and who takes the time to share it with me.

Thanks to my rapper son, Marc (MPulse – watch for the name!), who has given me valuable information about the rap community's relationship with Fox News. I thank my stylist daughter, Austin, for her ardent support of feminist ideals, for watching Fox with me, and for her built-in BS detector when it comes to injustice. And thanks to my son, Mike, a U.S. Army Specialist, for his ardent support of his Commander in Chief, President Obama, and his utter disgust when he hears the criticisms Fox News levels at the President on military issues.

Happy New Year, everybody – it's almost a new year, I hope it's a better year for many who have had difficulties, and we'll continue to watch Fox . . . so you don't have to.
