Murdoch Buys Share Of Media Conglomerate Owned By Saudi Prince Castigated By Hannity And Others On Fox
Reported by Ellen - December 4, 2009 -
Saudi Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal, previously attacked on Fox News for making donations to U.S. universities now has even deeper ties to Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation. As we previously reported, Prince Al-Waleed upped his ante to about 5.5% of News Corp. in 2005. Now, Media Matters has reported that News Corp. head Rupert Murdoch has acquired a 10% stake in Al-Waleed's media conglomerate and has an option to acquire 10% more. Media Matters noted that Fox News personalities also "criticized Saudi Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal -- who reportedly suggested that the United States' Middle East policy contributed to causing the 9-11 attacks -- and praised then-Mayor Rudy Giuliani for not accepting a $10 million disaster-relief donation from Al-Waleed." Think they'll stop criticizing him now?
