Will Fox Nation Report The Latest Update On “The South Will Rise Again?”
Reported by Priscilla - November 22, 2009 -
Fox Nation reported that the Chancellor of the University of Mississippi (‘Ole Miss”) had asked the school band to stop playing the pep song which ended with the lyrics “the South will rise again.) Not surprisingly the thread was full of racist ignorance about how the Civil War was not about slavery, how lower income African Americans are dragging down the quality of life in Atlanta, how one poster’s “ansestors” were from Europe and how the racist IRS wouldn’t let him put “European-American” on his tax forms. Several posters, who had no problems with the words because they were part of their “tradition,” asserted that they were going to use their second Amendment rights to assist the South in rising again. Nowhere on Fox Nation was Shep Smith’s opposition to the song noted. So I wonder if Fox Nation will report on the 11 Klansmen who protested, yesterday, at Ole Miss about the elimination of the offensive lyrics. The Klansmen were met by about 250 diverse protesters including a young African American man dressed in army fatigues. Wonder if any of the Klansmen were “proud citizens of Fox Nation?”
