Marc Lamont Hill's Insights Into Fox News Techiniques And Shout Out To News Hounds

Reported by Priscilla - November 3, 2009 -

While being interviewed by WHYY’s Mary Moss-Coane (November 2nd), former contributor to Fox News, Marc Lamont Hill, PhD, provides some interesting nuggets of information about Fox Opinion News. As stated by Rupert Murdoch, Hill was fired by Fox News. Hill has said only that “he is no longer employed by Fox News” and “has nothing bad to say.” During his radio interview, however, he let us in on some Fox tricks of the trade such as turning down guests' mic’s, “the classic Fox technique” of “picking up red herrings” and “taking minor issues and blowing them up.” When asked about the “shenanigans” of Fox News, Hill responded that “there’s some interesting websites that take this up too, like News Hounds” after which he referenced the “Cavuto Mark” which originated with Jon Stewart and which has become part of our lexicon. Anyway, it’s Fox’s loss that Dr. Hill, a “class act” in every way, is no longer providing interesting and informative commentary on Fox Opinion News. He will be missed. And his mention of News Hounds is greatly appreciated.
