Hannity And Malkin’s Sensitive Widdle Feewings Hurt By MyBarackObama.Com

Reported by Ellen - September 3, 2009 -

It would be funny if there weren’t a sizable number of conservatives out there who will not see past the rank hypocrisy of Sean Hannity and Michelle Malkin, hate mongers extraordinaire, whining about the meany attacks, now scrubbed, against Republicans and Fox News on the website MyBarackObama.com. It’s nothing you don’t hear about the left every day on Fox but, with the shoe on the other foot, Malkin and Hannity couldn’t seem to throw a hissy fit big enough to soothe their widdle feewings. With video.

The stinging boo-boo in question came from a post on the website urging readers to use the day of service on 9/11 to fight for health care reform by fighting back against “our own right-wing domestic terrorists who are subverting the American democratic process, whipped into a frenzy by their Fox propaganda network.” According to Hannity, the now-scrubbed statement also referred to the right wing as “heirs to Bin Laden.”

True to form, Malkin was on her high horse, and sallying forth sanctimoniously with her one emotion: scorn for her fellow Americans. “It’s no surprise,” Malkin sneered, as she went on to complain that the Obama administration has called its opponents “every base name that you can think of.”

So let’s take a look at Ms. Holier-Than-Thou’s own words. For starters, there’s her latest book, whose subtitle is, “Obama and His Team of Tax Cheats, Crooks, and Cronies.” My, oh my, how respectful is that? A quick look at Malkin’s website shows similar “sensitivity.” Right on the current homepage, she accuses Democrats of deliberately “using kiddie human shields.” Just a few days ago, Malkin posted about the “wackjob” science czar. In a recent Hannity appearance, Malkin called Democrats “true mobsters.”

Hannity, of course, is just as sensitive. He regularly paints Obama as a radical socialist, suggests he’s a racist and has even hinted it’s time for armed insurrection. And let's not forget the instances where Obama and/or Democrats have been likened to terrorists or Hitler with nary a complaint from Hannity. But on Fox, what’s good for the Democratic goose is cause for a hissy fit for the gander.

“It’s very telling that the Organizing for America website tried to scrub this,” Malkin said contemptuously. I can just imagine what she’d say if they had not removed it. “That kind of whitewashing is also par for the course for the Obama machine.” She pursed her curled lips when she finished.

Hannity, of course, was pleased. He moved on to attack Van Jones, now, apparently, an official Fox News boogeyman. I saw similar attacks against Jones on O’Reilly, On The Record and Fox Nation. Nowhere did I see the “we report, you decide” network mention that Jones just happens to be the now-departed co-founder of ColorOfChange.org, the organization which has successfully convinced 57 advertisers to date to stop advertising on Beck’s show in the wake of his accusation that Obama is a racist with a “deep-seated hatred for white people.”

Instead, Hannity made the ridiculous suggestion that Obama, himself, had something to do with the posting on the website (as opposed to, maybe, having been the one to remove it). “It seems that Chicago political instinct to lash out has popped up immediately (in Barack Obama),” Hannity jeered.

“Yes, it’s, it’s classic culture of corruption,” Malkin smirked. “And Chicago hardball tactics to try and stifle their opponents and stifle dissent instead of answering it and winning the arguments on substance.” She continued with smug condescension. “And we’ve seen it and we’ve talked about this, Sean, many times… the way that Team Obama handled their critics during their campaign… for shining light on their radical ties that Obama has forged in his lifetime, with his cronies.”

As the conversation switched to Obama's upcoming speech to children about education (which, as Media Matters has noted, has caused conservatives to freak out), Malkin became even more (condescendingly) hysterical. “We know that the left has always used kids in public schools as guinea pigs and as junior lobbyists for their social liberal agenda and …it goes back to Bill Ayers.” She didn't seem to feel the need, nor did Hannity ask for, a single example proving her thesis.

She “guaranteed” that though Obama will deliver an “innocuous speech” next week, “In these classrooms which are living laboratories for left-wing activism, what you’re going to get are over-zealous teachers, teachers union brass, who are in the hip pockets of the Democrat Party, urge their kids to write letters to demonize Obama-care opponents… Obama is not above using an 11 year-old girl as his conduit… They are using these kids as political guinea pigs for hope and change and we know what it’s really all about.”

Stay classy, Michelle. I’m sure there are some people out there who won’t find your double standard for political discourse as glaring as we do.
