Suprise! Fox News Falsely Suggests Specter Is Losing His Senate Race

Reported by Ellen - May 28, 2009 -

An article on Foxnews.com is titled Specter's GOP Challenger Gains Ground, Poll Shows. In much smaller letters, the subtitle reads, "Former Rep. Pat Toomey is still trailing Sen. Arlen Specter by 9 points in a (Quinnipiac University) poll on the 2010 Pennsylvania Senate race, but has closed a 20-point gap." Actually, Toomey has narrowed, not closed, a 20-point gap. But there's more.

"The numbers and candidates in the Pennsylvania race are still in a state of flux," Foxnews.com told us. But what they didn't report is that Specter's job approval ratings are now 51% to 39% and that the assistant director of the Quinnipiac Polling Institute predicted that Specter will be able to "hold his edge" over Toomey.
