Ex-Mafioso Offers Business And Political Insights To FOX Audience

Reported by Ellen - March 28, 2009 -

The same ex-mobster (I refuse to name him) who got a warm welcome on FOX & Friends while comparing Democrats to the Mafia, and called the Mafia more patriotic, was similarly received on FOX Business Network. There was no discussion about patriotism but host David Asman deliberately steered the discussion to comparing Washington to the mob. That was after Mr. Criminal-cum-Patriot offered his business tips to viewers.

"You gotta know what you're doing," we learned. "Business is business, whether it's illegal or legal... A lot of it is how you deal with people, how you network... people you surround yourself with... I learned so many things on the street dealing with (The Mob)."

"Give us a couple of tidbits. What are bits of advice?" Asman asked.

It was all about people, apparently. Our guest knew how to select the right people, manage them, sense a deal and delegate.

The banner on the screen read, "Mob boss business tips."

Very helpful to struggling business men and women, I'm sure.

Then Asman, who's not normally an ideologue, "just happened" to change the topic to politics, thus repeating the theme previously iterated on FOX & Friends. "You say business is business, some legit, some illegit. Frankly, what goes on inside the Beltway these days is more illegit than legit... You wrote a terrific piece on how Congress is just like the mob." Asman went on to paraphrase the similarities between loan sharking and TARP.

The banner changed to, "Is Congress like the Mob?"

"It really concerns me... It's so mob-like in their approach." the guest answered.

Given their antipathy to Democrats, I wouldn't be surprised if some FOX News personnel didn't ask for off-camera tips for "eradicating" their political opposition.
