Bret Baier Edits Coach K’s Statement – Is There A Pattern Here?

Reported by Priscilla - March 20, 2009 -

An important part of propaganda is repeating the meme in order to reinforce whatever message is being conveyed. One wonders is Fox’s most recent memo from Mooney has instructed staff to crop a comment made by Duke Basketball Coach, Mike Krzyzewski, regarding President Barack Obama’s NCAA predictions. The top item from last night’s (March 19th) "Grapevine" did the same editing as did Sean Hannity. Why didn’t they read the whole quote? Why indeed!

This part of the quote was read, by Bret Baier, and shown on the screen: "Somebody said that we're not in President Obama's Final Four, and as much as I respect what he's doing, really, the economy is something that he should focus on, probably more than the brackets." It omitted, "Why would I care about that? I love the guy, and I think he's gonna be great.” The first statement of the segment (“Barack-tology) missed the point of the Coach’s comment in order to make it look like he was being critical of Obama: “Duke basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski has a message for President Obama: Keep your day job.” Grapevine presents right wing propaganda packed into short soundbites – nourishing and tasty fruit for conservative vineyard workers.
