What I Didn't See On FOX News Yesterday: Obama More Popular Than Ever

Reported by Ellen - March 4, 2009 -

I'm having computer trouble again. So what better thing to do while standing by for hours as some guy halfway around the world fiddles with my machine via remote than watch FOX so you don't have to? I spent more than three hours watching FOX yesterday. And though I repeatedly saw President Barack Obama referred to as a socialist, I saw nothing about the latest Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll which found that Obama is more popular than ever. Also not mentioned? That, in the words of FOXNews.com, "opposition Republicans are getting drubbed in public opinion."

Although the FOXNews.com article talks about "early warning signs" for Obama, meaning that he has lost support from Republicans, the article also notes:

The poll found a sharp jump in the proportion of Americans who say the nation is "generally headed in the right direction" since Mr. Obama's January inauguration, a period when economic indicators and financial markets have suggested the opposite. The survey shows that 41% of Americans say the country is headed in the right direction, up dramatically from 26% in mid-January, before Mr. Obama took office, and up from 12% before the election.

The number who say the country is on the "wrong track" is still higher at 44%, but given the economic conditions, pollsters expected it to be much higher.

Not bad for a radical socialist who pals around with terrorists and married to a black militant who hates this country, eh?
