Hank Williams, Jr., a Big Palin Fan, Proves He's One of Those "Low Information" Voters

Reported by Melanie - October 23, 2008 -

And Most Likely a Foxwatcher

The very, very pro-McCainPalin country music singer Hank Williams was Neil Cavuto's last guest today (October 23, 2008) on "Your World." The whole interview was one big money quote, but here are the highlights.

Cavuto opened by playing a new radio ad Williams made for the McCain camp: "Hello. This is Hank Williams, Jr. When Barack Obama said folks like you and me were bitter, and clinging to guns and religion, I knew he just doesn't understand small town America. We love our God, and we love our guns, specially handed down from our grandfathers. And we resent it when liberals like Obama question our way of life. Don't be bitter. Vote McCain."

And then these gems from the "interview," which was via telephone and more like a case of Williams' free associating than being interviewed:

— "I am more connected to the people than I ever have [sic] in my entire career. There's a lot of magic going on out there Neil."

— "I don't believe any polls Neil. Oh, no, I don't believe a single poll. None of them. I believe the American people is [sic] the best jury in the world."

— "You might have a slick lawyer get a bad guy off once, but the American people are going to be the jury this time and I have total faith in them and not the liberal, left wing media."

— "Ah, you know, like The Today Show said [ah, wouldn't that be the "liberal left wing media?"] she's, she's drawing huge crowds. You know, we've got 5 and 6 and 8,000 that can't even get in."

— "I, I ah, [laughs], can't wait until the Election Day myself. [Laughs again.] I don't think it's going to be an upset at all. Not at all. I'm out there shaking hands, ah, looking at all these people and you know, nurses for Palin and all this stuff, and you know, yeah, I, I have a real good feeling."

Cavuto: "Alright. I know you're a big defender of Sarah Palin. She's been taking some knocks lately, the latest on these clothes the Republican party bought for her. What do you think of that?"

Williams: "The what now?"

Cavuto: "The clothes that the Republican party bought for her."

Williams: "I know nothin' about that Neil. No. I don't know. I don't know anything about that."

Comment: Seems to me that Williams should get out and take a look around a bit more.
