Biden comment made into latest Republican talking point - FOX amplifies and repeats ad nauseam

Reported by Chrish - October 21, 2008 -

FOX is making much ado over Joe Biden's recent remarks - or rather, a shortened version of his remarks - that "Watch, we're gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy," to help make the McCain camp's newest talking point that we don't need someone in office who will invite a "test."

Biden's remarks, in Seattle, "Mark my words. It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. Remember I said it standing here. if you don't remember anything else I said. Watch, we're gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy. And he's gonna have to make some really tough -- I don't know what the decision's gonna be, but I promise you it will occur. As a student of history and having served with seven presidents, I guarantee you it's gonna happen." reiterated his earlier remarks in San francisco. where he promised that Obama's challengers will "find out this guy's got steel in his spine."

On FOX and Friends this morning 10/21/08, guests were invited to comment on the remarks and how scary an Obama presidency will be, insinuating that we will be attacked again if we elect him - shades of John kerry (Karl Rove).

Rudy Giuliani and Bill Sammon bookended the sole Democrat of the hour, Tim Kaine.

It's the Big Deal of the Day, but lost will be the truthfulness of Biden's words. It happens to every president, it would happen to McCain too - and do we really want his explosive, knee-jerk reaction, or Obama's calm, measured, thoughtful one?
