Bill O'Reilly Calls Media Matters Liars and Wounds Obama For A Laugh

Reported by Deborah - October 11, 2008 -

Bill O'Reilly,10/10, had no Patriot for his closing attack segment, Pinheads and Patriots, offering viewers two "pinheads" instead. First victims, David Brock and Media Matters were called liars for calling attention to BOR's mistake when he claimed that Barack Obama didn't vote to denounce Moveon's ad about General Petraus. Next a clip of Farrakhan from February '08' was dug up for a little Friday night fun at Obama's expense.

Media Matters reported

"Summary: On his radio show, Bill O'Reilly falsely stated that Sen. Barack Obama did not cast a vote on a Senate amendment denouncing both an ad by MoveOn.org that targeted Gen. David Petraeus and "Swift Boat" attacks on Sen. John Kerry (D-MA). In fact, Obama voted in favor of an amendment sponsored by Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA) that denounced the MoveOn.org ad and character attacks on Kerry, former Sen. Max Cleland (D-GA), and other veterans."

O'Reilly claimed he was referring to the Cornyn Amendment but clearly stated on his radio show that it was the amendment including the Swift Boat attacks on Kerry.

"During the broadcast, O'Reilly stated: "You know, we did some research into his [Obama's] vote on MoveOn. MoveOn ran the Petraeus ad. ... They had a vote in the Senate condemning that action, along with -- and I did not know this -- condemning the Swift Boating of Kerry." O'Reilly added, "It was in the same amendment -- same amendment -- that, you know, when you challenge someone's patriotism, that is wrong. Obama did not vote."

O'Reilly called Brock a "liar" and "weasel" who always does this. He concluded "I'm not a liar and Brock is." (Interesting to note that O'Reilly's pronunciation of Brock sounded like Barack)

Then O'Reilly illustrated how men of great integrity behave by showing a clip of Farrakhan endorsing Obama at a Nation of Islam gathering back in February. O'Reilly chuckled, " Can you imagine Barack Obama. He's gotta hate this." But it sure looked like BOR got a kick out of it.
