One big happy right-wing family

Reported by Chrish - August 2, 2008 -

In a show of admiration, affection, and camaraderie, the Bush family called into Rush Limbaugh's radio show today to thank and congratulate Limbaugh on twenty years of successful (and highly lucrative) service to the right. Bush Senior apparently had a senior moment and on air inquired about another dear friend. From the transcript of Rush Limbaugh's radio show today:

BUSH 41: Well, yeah. I'm kind of on the sidelines, but I can't do golf and all that stuff anymore. But life is good. It's wonderful, and it's great having the family up here in Maine, and all is well. Do you see our man Ailes at all?

RUSH: Oh, yeah. I saw Roger at Tony Snow's funeral.

BUSH 41: Oh, did you?

RUSH: And a couple of times earlier this summer.

BUSH 41: Are we on the radio, are we?

RUSH: (laughing)

BUSH 41: I didn't know that. I'll clean up my act here. I'm glad they told me.

As many of you with elderly relatives know, it's not just kids who say the darnedest things...84 year olds have a way of blurting inconvenient truths too. Also on the call to Limbaugh were Bush 43 and brother Jeb. "Our man" is of course Roger Ailes, the hyper-partisan head of FOX News. But they're fair and balanced and don't do talking points, nooooo.

And we've got a bridge for you, too...
