FOX Friends reassure that the economy is not all bad

Reported by Chrish - July 30, 2008 -

FOX and Friends promoted the idea that the economy is not as bad as it seems, this morning 7/30/08 hosting Dave Ramsey. Ramsey has a radio program and a slot on the flailing FBN and advocates a debt-free lifestyle, detailing steps to get out of debt and stay out of debt.

Steve Doocy introduced the "glass half full" segment saying there is a lot of negative reporting, so Ramsey asked his radio audience to contact him with positive stories. Well, guess what he got? Positive stories! He related a few: homes selling quickly, for full asking price, multiple job offers, a self-employment success. He noted that the housing market is a local and not national economy, so while people in one area are having a hard time it's not the case nationwide.

Doocy wondered if Ramsey had ascertained how many of his callers were in favor of off-shore drilling (to supposedly lower prices at the pump) and the banter included "drill in my backyard!" and "drill in my kitchen!"

So F&F viewers ere reassured that the economy is not really bad, there are just areas where it's bad, and if only Congress would allow the oil companies to drill everything would be hunky dory.
