Outrageous Quote of the Week 7/26/08

Reported by Chrish - July 28, 2008 -

Last week's "winner" was Jonathan Hoenig, who doesn't believe in all that promoting the general welfare stuff: "There is a belief now that individuals, especially young people, should essentially ... 'devote themselves' to something greater than themselves -- sacrifice their own wants, their own interests, to serve the common good, whatever they happen to believe it is at the time. To me, that's very un-American." John Edwards was right - there are two Americas, and Hoenig's is very different from the majority's. Vote for this week's worst after the jump.

Option A: "Obama means a third Iraq war," Dick Morris, Hannity & Colmes, 7/21/08

Option B: "(Obama) is a European socialist. He is cut from the same cloth as the European socialists are. And he is going to go to Europe and the European socialists are going to turn out en masse for him celebrating him. And the reason they're gonna do it is that they can't implement their socialist agenda in Europe because capital will go to the United States. Now if Obama is going to implement it in the United States, and Gordon Brown will do it in Britain, they can be as socialist as they like 'cause capital has no place to go." Dick Morris, Hannity & Colmes, 7/21/08

Option C: "It is not a stretch to say Moveon is the new Klan." Bill O'Reilly, The Factor, 7/23/08

Option D: "The far-left loons and America haters who want us to lose in that country are vile and deserve nothing but scorn. [snip] They sip their lattes and pontificate about a world they know nothing about. They play down the danger from Al Qaeda, Hezbollah, Hamas and Iran. They believe America is the primary evil in the world. Now these people are off-the-chart dangerous, but they have a foothold in America. Just this weekend, they gathered in Texas for a hate America convention. And guess who showed up? Al Gore and Nancy Pelosi. So when deciding who should be the next president, we should all be aware of philosophy and world view. The USA makes mistakes, no doubt, but stands for freedom and justice. The jihadists stand for murder and chaos. It is that simple." Bill O'Reilly Talking Points, 7/22/08

Option E: “Obama would rather lose a war in order to win a political campaign.” John McCain, FOXNews.com, 7/22/08
