Outrageous Quote of the Week 7/12/08

Reported by Chrish - July 14, 2008 -

FOX News guest Kyndra Miller Rotunda, (USAR), former Judge Advocate General officer at Guantanamo Bay, won last week's award for her downplaying of the unlawful imprisonments: "I know there have been a lot of allegations about Guantanamo Bay, but the truth is it's really more like a Boy Scout camp than it is a prison camp."

Vote for this week's whiner, er, winner after the jump.

Option A: "Nixon was very nervous anywhere he was in public. McCain — when he's free to just do what he does, to ad-lib, off the cuff — he's a wonderful communicator. He's terrific at it." David Asman, Your World w/Neil Cavuto, 7/7/08

Option B: "While people are feeling pain, most people still believe they can achieve in this economy because America is the land of opportunity and you don't want to walk on that message if you're a candidate. You don't want to be all doom and gloom or you turn into John Edwards and get thrown out of the primary." Mary Katherine Ham supporting Bill O'Reilly's claim that the country is not in decline, The Factor, 7/8/08

Option C: "Fox has made the right decision because Democrats are looking at Fox as a fair and balanced network. Certainly the way they covered the presidential campaign on the Democratic side was one of the reasons that caused me to want to be here at Fox and and having Howard along side, ah, with people like Karl Rove, I think raises the level of Fox's dialogue." Lanny Davis on Your World w/Neil Cavuto, 7/8/08

Option D: "I think Phil Gramm has the guts to say what a lot of you business experts are reading between the lines. ...And don't think for one moment that the whiny news media and gloom and doom pundits in the mainstream press aren't impacting the way people are viewing the economy. ... This has become a self fufilling prophecy. ... Phil Gramm put it best - misery sells newspapers." Radio talk show host Mike Gallagher on Phil Gramm's "mental recession ...whiners" comment, Your World w/Neil Cavuto, 7/10/08

Option E: "It's scary to me that a country like that can use technology like PhotoShop and then appear to be more in control than they really are. [snip] It's all imagery. We know how important imagery is, and keep in mind that we're still trying to get the right message out in our country about the threat of Iran." Gretchen Carlson, FOX & Friends, 7/11/08

Option F: "Whenever Jackson gets involved in any Democratic campaign, Jewish voters get concerned." Frank Luntz, Hannity & Colmes 7/11/08
