Laura Ingraham's religion getting in the way of her fairandbalanced

Reported by Chrish - July 1, 2008 -

EWTN's Raymond Arroyo was back on Just In today 7/1/08 for his third appearance on the fledgling program's tenth anniversary (that's ten days) to discuss his and Ingraham's favorite religion, Catholicism.

A splinter group of Catholics (along with Anglican and Lutheran clergy) in Venezuela has formed a new reform church to support the policies of "President Piggie," as Ingraham calls him, that's Hugo Chavez to you. They say the new church seeks to undermine the Roman Catholic Church's attempts to do human rights work and replace it with liberation theology - which inevitably brought the conversation to Barack Obama. Arroyo can still hear Jeremiah Wright's voice when Obama speaks, which seeks to set up "this Markist utopia" here on Earth. The "social justice" message of Wright/Obama is heard loud and clear, though we never hear about the "life of a child." (More right-wing code.) The conversation continued to problems in the Anglican Church, which identifies itself as both Cathiolic and reformed.

After that, Ingraham said "For all of our Orthodox frinds listening, - we're multi-faith on Just In, we appeal to all groups..." and paraphrased Pope Benedict, who wants to build bridges to the Orthodox-Christian community.

Rather generous of Ingraham to brag that her program appeals to all groups - as long as they're Christian. Buddhists, Pagans, Sikhs, Muslims, atheists - not so much, only if you are politically expedient.
