Bill O'Reilly Tells Two Young Obama Supporters What They're Thinking

Reported by Deborah - June 24, 2008 -

Bill O'Reilly assured viewers that "at this point polls don't mean too much" before acknowledging that Barack Obama is leading John McCain by 7 points. Claiming that younger voters supporting Obama don't really know him, he invited two students entering law school to talk about why they support Senator Obama. However, BOR was so anxious to make his own points against the candidate that he literally put words in their mouths and refused to let them complete a thought.

Angela Wood , Drexel University Law School, thought universal health care was the most important issue. O'Reilly interrupted her explanation with a series of leading questions about what she expected the government to provide. Without allowing her a chance to respond, he declared her view " Socialistic". When she claimed he was exaggerating, BOR cut her off and turned to the other guest.

David Simons, Yale, was concerned about the economy. O'Reilly gave him the same treatment and declared him a supporter of "income redistribution". "You want to take my money and give it to somebody else", he told Simons.

When Wood opined that people who have done well should help others, O'Reilly claimed she wanted to "force" people to give up their money. Of course, he made it all personal making sure that everyone was aware of his own wealth and success noting that Obama wanted to tax 50% of his earnings. He ended the segment with some advice for Simons about how he could reach the same level of success. However, Angela Wood was not included because O'Reilly had already concluded that she was a Socialist.
