Bush resumes hunt for Osama bin Laden

Reported by Chrish - June 16, 2008 -

Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade reported this morning 6/18/08 that British sources confirmed that Bush's meeting with Britain's Prime Minister Gordon Brown included renewed commitment to finding Osama bin Laden, before Bush's term expires.

The segment was bannered "New Push for bin Laden: Brits to join hunt for Usama," assisting a Delta Force effort already ongoing. The goal is to flush Osama, suspected of being in Pakistan, towards the Afghanistan border. This is recognized as Bush's last chance to capture bin Laden before he leaves office.

The main source for the story was only identified as "the British press," but Brian Kilmeade appeared to be reading from Murdoch-owned Sunday Times, without acknowledging the familial relationship. At the end of the segment Steve Doocy added that US and British intelligence sources had confirmed the renewed hunt is indeed on.

One has to wonder what plots OBL has cooked up in the intervening 7 years since Bush declared him wanted, dead or alive. This push is more about redeeming Bush's "legacy" than it is about fighting terrorism.
