Dick Morris: Blue Collar Democrats “Had To Choose Between Racism And Sexism And They Decided To Vote For Hillary”

Reported by Ellen - June 3, 2008 -

After all the FOX News hoopla over Obama’s “bittergate,” it was more than just a little ironic that on last night’s (6/2/08) Hannity & Colmes, Dick Morris insulted blue collar voters and Sean Hannity didn’t even seem to notice. On the other hand, they were Democratic blue collar voters, so maybe Hannity didn’t care. With video

In part 2 of his two-part segment on last night’s show, Morris and Hannity discussed the possibility of Hillary Clinton taking the VP spot under Obama. Morris didn’t think Clinton would help Obama. As part of his explanation, he said, “There are two kinds of Hillary voters: The feminist, Democratic Party, pro-choice, middle-aged/elderly women and some men who are regular Democrats. And they’re gonna vote for Obama anyway. And then you have the blue collar cops, firemen – largely men – who had to choose between racism and sexism and they decided to vote for Hillary.”

That sounds like an insult to working people to me, the kind that FOX News made a huge fuss about when Obama talked about “bitter people clinging to their guns and religion,” but Hannity didn’t seem to mind. In fact, he didn’t even seem to notice.

Instead, Hannity moved on to distort Democratic polling for the umpteenth time, saying, “The exit poll shows that the majority of Democrats don’t think (Obama’s) honest, they don’t think he’s trustworthy, they think he agrees with Wright and they’re gonna vote for McCain.”

In reality, Hannity was referring to exit polls in a few select states, as Alan Colmes pointed out.
