Fox Plugs Republican 527

Reported by Priscilla - May 29, 2008 -

Last night’s (May 28th) Special Report did a segment about McCain’s accusation that Obama is inexperienced when it comes to war related issues and McCain’s “invitation” for Obama to accompany him to Iraq so that Obama could see the “success” of the Surge. Obama’s response seemed to be the end of the story – but not so fast. Fox’s James Rosen worked in an addendum that wasn’t particularly relevant to the story; but, rather served to work in a reference to the Republican right wing’s favorite veteran's group.

Rosen said that the questions about why Obama isn’t meeting with General Petraeus while being willing to meet with dangerous world leaders are being asked in an internet video put out by Veterans for Freedom. Rosen noted that the group “describes itself” as a non partisan organization which supports candidates from both parties who support victory in Iraq.

Comment: Whoa, not so fast – “non partisan” – not according to Source Watch which describes it as a pro-Bush, pro-war group whose leadership has close ties to the Bush administration. The candidates that they are supporting are all republican. If Rosen was trying to say that Obama is being questioned by a mainstream veteran’s organization, he couldn’t be further from the truth. And lots of groups do lots of videos, regarding candidate’s positions, on a daily basis. Why pick this one? I report, you decide.
