O'Reilly reruns even though he's back

Reported by Chrish - May 27, 2008 -

Tuning in to the O'Reilly Factor tonight 5/27/08 I thought he was till on vacation and I was watching another re-run. But no, O'Reilly's back - he was just saying the same thing (drip, drip, drip) and playing the same video clips from previous programs, kvetching about NBC's lack of standards and bias and GE's business dealings with Iran. (I knew when I first heard about that White House memo last week that BOR would have to get his two cents in, no matter how late to the party. Lucky for him, his colleagues have been trying to keep it alive for him all week.)

You can see why I was momentarily confused. Tonight:

"Talking Points submits that the conduct of GE and NBC News is unprecedented in America. With the exception of the Today Show and some individual NBC correspondents, the network has violated just about every journalistic standard."

Where have I heard that before? Oh, it was a contender in the News Hounds Outrageous Quote SuperBowl!

"For the first time ever a political party may have a network news organization in its pocket!" Bill O'Reilly, the Factor, 10/05/07

Most people found it outrageous because FOX is and has been so clearly and closely aligned with the Republican Party in general, and the Bush administration specifically. They're becoming interchangeable, with the White House offering media criticism (through the looking glass!) and FOX stumping for the nominee.

Read the SPJ (Society of Professional Journalists) Code of Ethics and see if FOX adheres to any.
