Patrick J. Murphy (D) PA Gets Quick Dismissal On FOX

Reported by Deborah - April 21, 2008 -

Today on FOX Election HQ, Patrick J. Murphy (D) PA, an Obama supporter, got the last two minutes providing the only positive discourse on Barack Obama of the hour. However, when Murphy mentioned that conservative radio host, Michael Smerconish, praised Obama, Megyn Kelly dismissed him quickly and not too graciously.

The big Obama story that was repeated throughout the hour was the candidates statement that Hillary Clinton would win tomorrow in Pennsylvania. Kelly led with that question and Murphy stressed how far Obama had come in PA closing a 33 point gap. When Kelly asked about the gun issue in the state, Murphy was able to draw on his own military experience assuring Kelly that Obama's stand on the issue satisfied him. He noted that although he supported the rights of gun owners, he also believed like Obama that the laws could be made stricter to protect citizens from criminals.

Then Murphy told Kelly that the well known Philadelphia based radio host, Michael Smerconish, said that Barack Obama was the best choice. Kelly sounding irritated said, " Got it." and then announced that the time was up. He vanished but you could hear his disembodied voice saying goodbye while Hemmer started to wind up the show.

Here's a transcript and video of Michael Smerconish interviewing Barack Obama from Huffington Post.
