Isn't It Funny How Hannity And FOX News Never Cared About Giuliani's Criminal Partners?

Reported by Ellen - March 29, 2008 -

It was another night of Obama-bashing on Hannity & Colmes tonight. All that hammy outrage from Sean Hannity about how Barack Obama's pastor reflected poor judgment on Obama's part got me thinking about Rudy Giuliani. He didn't just associate with Bernard Kerik, he appointed Kerik to a high spot in the Giuliani administration, later became partners with him and even recommended him to be head of the Department of Homeland Security. Kerik was also a cad in addition to be being a crook. And then there's another Giuliani partner, Monsignor Alan Placa, accused of sexually abusing children and helping to cover up other abuses by priests. Yet not only was Giuliani given a pass on FOX about that "poor judgment," Kerik was repeatedly welcomed on the "fair and balanced" network, even after he pleaded guilty to accepting illegal gifts from a company associated with the Mob. Do you think the differences might have something to do with the fact that the pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, is black?

Here are a few examples of the favorable treatment given by FOX News and Sean Hannity, the former pal of a Neo-Nazi/white supremacist, to Giuliani and Kerik:

Hannity told Kerik "Good to see you" when he appeared on Hannity & Colmes on September 11, 2006. That was the second time Kerik had been warmly received on the show after he pled guilty to receiving the gifts.

During a Hannity & Colmes interview on January 25, 2008, no questions were asked of Giuliani about his associations with either Kerik or Placa, even though Giuliani was still in the presidential race at the time.

No questions were asked about Kerik or Placa during Giuliani's January 22, 2008 interview with Neil Cavuto, either.

In fact, during the one time I can recall the Kerik scandals being mentioned on Hannity & Colmes, Hannity agreed with Giuliani's spin that Kerik "didn't affect the results." Hannity even helpfully added that Kerik was not part of Giuliani's "record." Placa did not come up at all.

In contrast, Barack Obama has never made Wright part of his policy team nor proposed him for any position in his administration. Yet night after night, Hannity insists that the association indicates that Obama is not fit to be president. Hannity has even suggested that the association indicates that Obama shares the same "racist, anti-Semitic" views as Wright.

So why hasn't it ever occurred to Hannity that maybe Giuliani shares the same criminal tendencies of Kerik? The same propensity for pedophilia?

Is it because for Hannity and FOX News, it's better to be a Republican criminal than an outspoken Democrat? Or is it better to be friends with a criminal than an uppity African American? Why don't you write Hannity and ask.

You can reach him at hannity@foxnews.com.

And while you're at it, please be sure to ask him why he has not renounced his own shameful association with Neo-Nazi/white supremacist Hal Turner.

Please ask FOX News the same questions by writing them at comments@foxnews.com.
