What? You've Never Heard of "Nutraloaf?" You've Gotta Start Watching Fox "Business News!"

Reported by Melanie - March 28, 2008 -

Neil Cavuto, Fox's business news honcho, didn't mention the closing numbers on Wall Street today (March 28, 2008) but he did have time to do a follow up segment on "nutraloaf." Yes, nutraloaf. This important issue pushed its way through financial and economic news last Monday when Cavuto interviewed a lawyer about some inmates in Vermont who are suing the state because it is serving them "nutraloaf," a "21st Century version of bread and water."

Nutraloaf, basically a big biscuit, doesn't require utensils, so it is being given to inmates who have thrown utensils, feces, urine and food at the guards. The inmates claim the food is so awful, it is a form of punishment, not prevention.

Anyway, Cavuto, the editor of business news at Fox, apparently thought this was so important it deserved yet another segment so he brought us William La Jeunesse today, on the beach in Santa Monica, California for, ah, a taste test.

Again, bear in mind Fox bills this show as its "premiere business news" show and Cavuto didn't mention the closing numbers on the Dow or Nasdaq today (they were both down) but he did air this.

Below is video. (Sorry for how choppy it is. I lost about half of it somewhere during the upload process, but I think you get the gist of Le Jeunesse's report.)

For those of you who don't have the ability to access YouTube videos, here's a hint as to the real point of Mr. Editor of Business News at Fox's "taste test:"
