Barack Obama's Visit to "The View" Irritates FOX's Republican Cheerleaders

Reported by Deborah - March 28, 2008 -

Megyn Kelly and Bill Hemmer, FOX's rising stars, on America's Election HQ, don't seem to know how to counter Barack Obama's charisma . After working so diligently to destroy Obama with relentless coverage of the Wright controversy, they seemed miffed by the warm response he received on The View.

Today there was a segment on candidates going on talk shows and Kelly offered the opening tease question wondering if candidates go on talk shows " to show how cool they are". Then they showed a clip of Obama on the couch openly discussing the Wright issue. Kelly called talk show appearances " a tactic" accusing Obama of manipulating the opportunity.

" He used it! On the couch it sounds different!" Then she said, " Do we need to see Hillary Clinton on that couch?"

Although John McCain's upcoming appearance on Letterman was mentioned, there was no speculation about McCain "using" the opportunity to show off his coolness.

Later in the show Bill Hemmer reported that Obama met with some team members from the Pittsburgh Steelers claiming Obama was " sucking" up to get votes. ( Isn't that called campaigning) The clip showed Obama and the players having a good time and yes, Obama looked young and cool.

It will be interesting to see how they spin McCain's Letterman appearance or if they mention it at all.
