Hannity’s America Serves Red Meat To Hillary Haters

Webster defines propaganda as “the spreading of ideas, information, or rumor for the purpose of helping or injuring an institution, a cause or a person and ideas, facts, or allegations spread deliberately to further one’s cause or to damage an opposing cause.” Last night’s (November 18th) “Hannity’s America” was a perfect example of the ongoing propaganda, being used by Sean Hannity, to smear Senator Hillary Clinton. Words are very important in the use of propaganda and Hannity certainly employed an entire lexicon in his two editorial pieces which served to reinforce the notion that, in Hannity’s America, Senator Clinton is the anti-Christ.

Hannity’s first six minute diatribe started with his preview of the current state of the Clinton campaign: “anatomy of a meltdown” and how the candidate has changed from “front runner to everybody’s favorite punching bag.” (Comment: Hannity’s “favorite punching bag.”) Hannity claimed that Clinton’s “flip flopping” is the same kind of “political meltdown” that “sank Howard Dean.” Hannity was “amazed” at “how quickly the candidate’s weakness is showing how the wheels are coming off…” He described the “well oiled Clinton machine… flailing and blaming Tim Russert…” Hannity feels that “it must have seemed to the Clinton campaign that, once again, the world was conspiring against them” after which he showed Hillary’s Clinton’s comment about the “vast right wing conspiracy.” (Comment: Richard Mellon Scaife and his Arkansas Project were hardly the whole world which, at present, respects and admires Bill Clinton unlike their reaction to the current resident of the White House.) Hannity claimed that after Clinton’s comment during the Philadelphia debate about the drivers’ licenses for illegal immigrants, the heat is “coming from the left.” (Comment: the “heat,” as evidenced by this show, is still coming from the right). Hannity mixed some metaphors when he asserted that “the blood is in the water and the emperor has no clothes.”

In commenting about the “planted question” directed to Clinton, Hannity stated that “it may not be a big deal to some; but it’s the culmination of a meltdown that exposed the Clintons as the controlling manipulators that people believe them to be.” (Comment: Sean, you’re not being very subtle about your feelings and while we’re on the subject of control and manipulation, how bout the Bush administration and Fox News?)

The second smear piece was Chapter 11 in Hannity’s ongoing chronicle of the “Clinton Chapters.” (Comment: why no Giuliani chapters? There is what looks to be some muck there.) This seven minute Hillary bashing illustrated how desperate Hannity is to smear the Senator as it was all about “questions” involved in her run for the NY Senate. (Comment: talk about Monday morning quarterbacking!) Hannity noted the “controversy” surrounding her “carpet bagger” status without mentioning how Alan Keyes was not a resident of Illinois when he made his unsuccessful bid.) Hannity mentioned how Clinton embraced Yasser Arafat’s wife when she traveled to the Middle East and how that alienated NY Jewish voters. (Comment: Clinton received slightly over 50% of votes from those who identified themselves as Jewish). What Hannity didn’t say was how his pal Rudy Giuliani honored the IRA’s Jerry Adams at a time when the US State department considered the IRA a terrorist organization. He didn’t mention that Clinton’s rival, Rick Lazio, shook hands with Yasser Arafat in 1998. Hannity got all “Hanctimonious” when he concluded that things in Clinton’s presidential campaign “sound like deja vu. Some of this makes us worry for the future, and this is another chapter that will never be closed.”

Comment: “Hannity’s America” is a safe refuge for anyone who hates the Clintons as Hannity will continue to reinforce why they hate (and should hate) the Clintons. If Hannity were “fair and balanced,” wouldn’t he do a “book” about Giuliani? Despite the so called “liberal media,” no other major news network devotes entire segments to bashing Republican candidates. 13 minutes of Hillary bashing. Considering time spent on commercials, that’s about a quarter of the show. Too bad for Hannity that even the Fox Opinion Dynamics poll shows that she’s still polling ahead of Fox fave Giuliani!
