Bill O'Reilly Milks Rosie/MSNBC Story Even Though Deal Is Dead

Reported by Deborah - November 7, 2007 -

Bill O'Reilly was all set to milk the story about Rosie O'Donnell's possible show on MSNBC indefinitely but tonight Rosie posted on her blog that the deal was off. Posted at 7:06 PM tonight , Keith Olbermann caught it in time for his show also at 8 PM on MSNBC but Bill missed the news before taping two segments on the topic allowing him to keep the Rosie whining going a bit longer.

First Andrew Napolitano appeared to discuss why Tom Brokaw is dodging the Rosie issue. Brokaw plugged his book on Napolitano's radio show and refused to comment on O'Donnell so BOR and the Judge speculated on Brokaw's refusal.

O'Reilly thought Brokaw's avoidance was unusual and Napolitano had his perfect answer ready to go. He claimed that Brokaw was "warm and charming" but wanted to distance himself from O'Donnell because " she is the epitome of irresponsibility" Bill liked the line and agreed adding that GE also thinks she is the " epitome of irresponsibility".

Napolitano pleased Bill again wondering "How will the shareholder's react?" Then he said the magic words calling MSNBC " truly the anti-FOX." and " beyond left wing". BOR was able to jump in to quickly recite the infamous Rosie quotes. The timing was pristine.

Later in the show, Dennis Miller came on to do his usual back up support thing for Bill and his verbal streaming took him to a defense of FOX. He claimed that Ailes and Murdoch should create a really right wing network to compete with MSNBC because FOX is really fair and balanced even though it " tilts a little right".

comment: Maybe Brokaw didn't comment on Rosie O'Donnell because he knew it wasn't going to happen not because as Napolitano claimed she is " the epitome of irresponsibility". It will be interesting to see how long O'Reilly can keep this dead story going.
