FOX Friends: Rudy's "fearless" and even the Mob wouldn't "rub him out"

Reported by Chrish - October 25, 2007 -

In a segment no doubt intended to draw parallels between the Mafia and Al Qaeda this morning 10/25/07 on FOX and Friends, it was reported that Rudy Giuliani had been targeted for a "hit" but was spared by a 3:2 vote of Mafia family heads.

After sharing a hearty laugh at the Kerry-questioner who was tasered (the campus cops in question have been exonerated) the subject changed to an alleged intent to kill Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani some years ago. Brian Kilmeade dubbed Giuliani "fearless" for going after organized crime in New York in the 1980s, (his job at the time) and the trio reported that the heads of the Bonanno, Genovese, and Luchese families overrode Gotti and Persico votes to "rub him out."

This story originated, as I'm learning do many of the Friends' reports, at sister company The New York Post, more "You lie and I'll swear to it." I'm not saying this is a lie, I'm just pointing out that Murdoch's empire starts a story and then amplifies it via FOX and the main stream media then picks it up, because if they're not homogenous and following the "leader" by nightfall attack dog Bill O'reilly will throw a hissy fit over their "corruption" and "bias." What an operation!!

What we won't hear about Giuliani on FOX would fill a book: for starters, he still hasn't paid the difference to the New York Times for his sweetheart deal he muscled through in the wake of the MoveOn.org Petraeus ad hissy fit, possibly in violation of campaign financing laws. Another thing you won't learn from FOX is that Norman Podhoretz, one of the major architects of the so-called "Bush Doctrine" and original signer of the global empire mission of PNAC, is Giuliani's foreign policy adviser. Should Giuliani get elected (or selected) we would have the same behind-the-scenes players running things as we have now - more of the same. Let's hope the MSM runs with some of these, actually relevant, stories instead of a 20-year-old non-event.

Amended 12:30pm: Watching the second hour noted that Steve Doocy announced that "...a while back Mafia bosses set their sights on Rudy Giuliani!" over a banner reading ASSASSINATION PLOT: Mob set sights on Rudy." Rather hysterical, seeing as how it was over 20 years ago.
