Beating the Drums About War With Iran Again On Fox

Reported by Donna - October 8, 2007 -

General Petraeus' words about Iran led the segment on Studio B with Shepard Smith. Smith said that Petraeus said that Iran is giving insurgents weapons to kill our solders.

The banner read 'General Petraeus: Iran Inciting Violence In Iraq.'

Molly Henneberg and Shepard Smith reported on this. Smith said that General Petraeus was saying that the ambassador to Iraq from Iran was behind all of this. Petraeus said that the ambassador was a member of the Revolutionary Guard Force. Smith said that the Bush Administration has been considering classifying the Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist group. Smith said this is not sounding good and Henneberg said that Petraeus is pointing him out and calling him out.

Henneberg said that Petraeus said that the ambassader was a member of the Al Quds Force, which is the clandestine branch of the Revolutionary Guard Force. Smith asked Henneberg if the President declared them a terrorist group, then he wouldn't have to declare war, he could just go in and fight them. Henneberg said that's right, they could just go in and go after those terrorists.

Comments: So, all the president has to do is declare any group a terrorist group and we can go in and go after those he decides are terrorists? Sounds like they're laying a plan to go to war without having to declare war. Sound familiar? He is the decider.
