Bill "we don't do personal attacks" O'Reilly calls David Brock "a despicable human being"

Reported by Chrish - October 2, 2007 -

Bill O'Reilly has vowed to "counter attack" Media Matters and anyone else who, in his eyes, "smears" him or FOX News or conservative talk radio. Tonight on the Factor he did a hit piece on Media Matters founder David Brock, who has repeatedly asked to be on the Factor , to no avail . Heritage Foundation's Genevieve Woods assisted.

O'Reilly attempted to use Brock's "conversion" (if you will) from right-wing operative to conservative misinformation documenter extraordinaire as evidence that he willingly lies and does the bidding of whomever pays him (again erroneously purported to be George Soros). Brock's personal political evolution is documented in his book "Blinded by the Right" which was not mentioned by name (for fear a curious viewer might read it, no dount).

O'Reilly's hit piece included "vicious farleft assaults;" "who's behind all the smearing?" Brock "paid to attack...daily smear campaign;" "no question this guy's a hatchet man;" "paid a lot..to put out this dishonest garbage;" "does he sell himself to the highest bidder?" "the biggest villain... in the country;" he'll "do anything, say anything, doesn't matter if it's true, for money;" and my personal LOL favorite:

"He has obviously mainstream media access, which the right-wing does not have - because (frowning) the right-wing has character assassins too."

Woods said he shouldn't be given a platform, but now that CNN and MSNBC are in bed with him, and the Senate Majority Leader is

"wast(ing) all the taxpayers' time talking about propaganda designed to diminish a commentator he (Reid) disagrees with, then you have to bring it to the attention of the American public."

What a short memory - it was only 11 days ago that FOX was ecstatically reporting the Senate's formal denunciation, put to a vote for chrissake, of an advertisement that they (FOX) disagreed with.

This is dishonest and dangerous, said O'Reilly of all people, because anyone who "disagrees with" Brock is going to be smeared, defamed, and slimed with no regard to the truth. O'Reilly pronounced Brock a "despicable human being" and warned Woods that he (Brock) would be coming after her next, but "you let us know and we'll 'revisit' him again."

I am breathless from the hypocrisy and projection.
