Outrageous Quote of the Week 9/29/07

Reported by Chrish - October 1, 2007 -

It's official - Bill O'Reilly is #1 consistently, week after week, in the outrageous quote poll. His shtick garners ratings but oh the indignation he has to exhibit, the righteousness he has to fake, the hypocrisy he has to flaunt! Last week he won for this textbook projection: "Finally, there are far-right Web sites that smear, no question. But I've studied this Internet situation now for more than a year. The viciousness of the far-left is unprecedented. It is un-American. It is immoral. Every politician should walk away from these people."

Vote in this week's harvest of hostility after the jump.

Option A: "Almost every speaker I have is going to have to have bodyguards because of the terrible situation on these campuses – the threats from the fascist left." David Horowitz on Hannity & Colmes re his upcoming "Islamo-Fascist Awareness Week" that he brags will take place on a hundred campuses, 9/24/07

Option B: "Saddam was dead, no one knew where Osama Bin Laden was and the man in North Korea wouldn't step into the U.S.," Jim Gilchrist from the Minuteman project, answering why the President of Iran was invited to speak at Columbia University, Fox and Friends, 9/25/07

Option C: "George Soros is after Bill O'Reilly, and he's enlisted the help of CNN and NBC." John Gibson, Big Story, 9/26/07

Option D: "Well, first of all, whenever I hear anything described as a heartless assault on our children, I tend be - think - it's a good idea. I'm happy that the President is willing to do something bad for the kids. You do wonder about the Democrats, If I can just say. Putting a 12-year-old - I mean, how pathetic is that? A 12-year-old kid giving the radio address. Nancy Pelosi pretending she's praying for the President. You really wonder how stupid they think the American people are." - Bill Kristol. speaking about the President's threat to veto the SCHIPS legislation, FOX News Sunday, 9/30/07

Option E: "We could do that in 48 hours and I would hit, say, 2500 aim points with 400 aircrafts led by 60 to 65 stealth aircraft. ... You could do it from Diego Garcia. We could do it from Iraq. We could do 'em from England. We could do 'em from the United States. ... Ahmadinijad has got nothing in Iran that we cannot take out. ... The important thing is we know it would delay [Iran's nuclear program]. ... We want to keep Israel out of this. Israel creates a spark over there. ... There's a lot of risk. But the risk of nuclear weapons going off in U. S. cities is the greater risk. We've got to have the courage to understand that." - Lt. Gen. Thomas McInerney (USAF, ret.), speaking to Jennifer Griffin during the FOX special "Iran: The Ticking Bomb", 9/29/07

Option F: "The New York Times and other papers ran up to Harlem and fed bogus Media Matters quotes to blacks who had no idea what I actually said on the radio. Of course they didn't like the phony quotes! And they said bad things about me. But I don't blame the folks who did that. They believe what the reporters told them. Now ladies and gentlemen, this is blatantly dishonest, blatantly dishonest, and exploitative in the worst possible way. No American deserves to be fed propaganda by the press." Bill "O' for Outrageous"'Reilly, O'Reilly Factor 9/26/07

Option G: "It is actually very serious. And the real story...is the fact that a Gestapo has emerged in America. If you'll notice, the attacks on you mirror the attacks on General Petraeus." Tammy Bruce discussing Media Matters with BOR, 9/26/07

OK, OK. Let's just give BillO the award now and vote for runner-up.
