Gutfeld says press would have hammered Bush and it would have set a bad example, to cut a deal with Saddam Hussein before the war

Reported by Chrish - September 28, 2007 -

Greta Van Susteren brought a little sanity and intelligence to FOX and Friends this morning but it was lost on guest/colleague Greg Gutfeld. Discussing the recent revelation that a deal was in the making before the 2003 invasion that would have allowed Saddam Hussein to live in exile, with a cool billion, Steve Doocy mused about how different the world would have been.

Gutfeld's perspective was that the press would have been all over Bush (yeah, right) and he would not have won (won what? 2004?) Van Susteren interjected that we'd have 3,000 soldiers alive... (actually it's up to 3,800).

Possibly, said Gutfeld, but it would set a very bad example. Why, he might proclaim himself dictator and extort $3billion from FOX. Van Susteren cut his jollity short with facts, though and reminded the group that in 1979 the Shah came here; leaders do move.

Brian Kilmeade said this is verified with a transcript, not just somebody saying something but imagines that Saddam Hussein would never go quietly into obscurity because of his big ego. Silliness ensued and that was the extent of the reporting.

THE WAR COULD HAVE BEEN AVERTED. PLANS WERE IN PROGRESS. BUSH RUSHED IN ANYWAY.

YES, IMAGINE.

And the clowns on FOX make jokes and dismiss it in 2 minutes flat. Tactic: Blip. Disgraceful.
