So what are they trying to distract us from with all this MoveOn BS?

Reported by Chrish - September 25, 2007 -

If there's one thing we know, it's that when FOX isn't distorting Democrats' points of view or dismissing liberal policies, they are throwing up a distracting smokescreen while the Bush administration operates without oversight, usually to our ultimate detriment. The ridiculous brouhaha over an AD that ran two full weeks ago continued today so a little web-surfing was in order to find under-reported stories.

It seems that an amendment (Kyl-Lieberman) has been submitted to the defense spending bill that could be construed to constitute Senate authorization for war with Iran.

You've had to have figured out by now that there is no way the American people will allow a full-frontal declaration of war on Iran based on the shifting and dubious claims of an administration that has lost all credibility and confidence of all but the most loyal. Yet they and their friends at FOX have been beating the drums of war for quite a long time now, so one wonders how they'll manage it.

Enter Lieberman and Kyl.

A Tiny Revolution noted, unlike FOX and the rest of the so-called liberal media, that an amendment containing the following wording was attached to the Senate FY2008 Defense Authorization bill:

(3) that it should be the policy of the United States to combat, contain, and roll back the violent activities and destabilizing influence inside Iraq of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, its foreign facilitators such as Lebanese Hezbollah, and its indigenous Iraqi proxies;

(4) to support the prudent and calibrated use of all instruments of United States national power in Iraq, including diplomatic, economic, intelligence, and military instruments, in support of the policy described in paragraph (3) with respect to the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran and its proxies.

Add this to the near-hysteria over Iranian President Ahmadinejad's appearance in NYC today and the current front page of FOXNews.com and it is not outside the realm of possibility that the Bush administration intends to go ahead with yet another military misadventure.
